Channel letter signs · Project planning
Front-lit or halo-lit channel letters?
Front-lit letters emphasize an illuminated face; halo-lit letters create a glow behind the lettering. Choose with a day-and-night view of the actual facade, then check the mounting and property criteria.

Judge the sign on the building
Provide a straight-on facade photograph and an approach view from where customers arrive. Discuss the sign’s proportions relative to the entrance and neighboring tenants. An attractive close-up rendering does not answer whether the name is easy to recognize from the approach.
Review lighting and mounting together
Ask how the sign would attach, where wiring would run and who will confirm electrical scope. For a halo effect, discuss the background surface and how the proposed layout will appear against it. Request a clear description of what the quote includes rather than assuming all electrical work is part of fabrication.
Approve the scope before fabrication
Gather the landlord’s sign criteria and the relevant municipal requirements early. Confirm responsibility for drawings, applications, electrical coordination, final measurements and installation access. Set the production schedule after those dependencies are understood rather than working backward from an unverified opening-day promise.
Compare the options.
