What to ask about caring for a vehicle wrap
Ask for written instructions for the actual film, print and finish on your vehicle. Care guidance for paint-protection film, color-change wrap and printed commercial graphics is not necessarily interchangeable.

Get the product details at handover
Record the installed material and finish, installation date and the shop’s return-to-service instructions. Ask when the first wash is appropriate, which cleaners are permitted and whether any warranty requires maintenance records. Do not use a general online lifespan claim as the warranty for your job.
Choose a cleaning method deliberately
3M’s vehicle-product care guidance favors hand washing where possible. Follow the exact product instructions for detergent, equipment and drying. Before using a commercial car wash, confirm that its method is suitable for your film and finish rather than assuming every wash program is equivalent.
Report damage instead of improvising a repair
Photograph lifting edges, stains or impact damage and contact the installer with the product information. Ask before applying polish, wax, solvent or adhesive. Keep a record of when an issue appeared and which cleaning products were used so the next step can be assessed with context.
